Mission statement
Pharmacy of Heidelberg University Hospital
The pharmacy of Heidelberg University Hospital is a central facility of the hospital. All employees of the pharmacy endeavour to increase the efficiency of the pharmacy and the University Hospital in order to achieve the highest level of medical and scientific progress for our patients in the unity of research, teaching and patient care. The mission statement of Heidelberg University Hospital is supplemented and concretised by the mission statement of the pharmacy.
The patient is at the centre of all activities of the pharmacy staff at the University Hospital. The wards with the ward staff - doctors and nursing staff - are the pharmacy's direct customers. All initiatives and processes are orientated towards the needs of the customers.
All pharmacy staff at the University Hospital apply professionally and scientifically recognised standards to achieve these goals.
Each pharmacy employee is responsible for the tasks directly assigned to him/her and contributes to the performance of the entire pharmacy of the University Hospital with commitment and expertise. The pharmacy employees are aware that a positive overall performance of the pharmacy of the University Hospital is a prerequisite for the continued existence of this institution. In their daily work, the pharmacy staff endeavour to consolidate the position of the pharmacy as a central service provider in the University Hospital through their commitment, initiative, dedication, creativity and professional competence. All pharmacy employees endeavour to present the pharmacy's services in a positive light, both internally and externally.
Pharmacy employees work together with internal and external partners at all levels of the hierarchy in a cooperative and goal-orientated manner. Co-operation between all professional groups is a prerequisite for achieving effective and efficient performance. Conflicts should be resolved jointly in an open atmosphere in the interests of a favourable, future-oriented result. In an open, fair and cooperative partnership, every pharmacy employee develops their own initiative and commitment. Employees support each other in the realisation of professional training and further education.
The management of the pharmacy endeavours to create the necessary structural and process conditions that are required to achieve the objectives. In particular, it endeavours to strengthen the employees' own initiative and responsibility by delegating tasks and responsibilities.
The principles of economic behaviour apply in all areas of the pharmacy at the University Hospital. The pharmacy staff know that they are jointly responsible for the effective and efficient use of pharmacy goods and pharmacy services throughout the University Hospital. This helps to ensure that the necessary financial resources for therapeutic measures in patient care and innovations in research and teaching are maintained.
In addition to the efficient use of economic resources, the pharmacy staff pay particular attention to the protection of the environment in the course of their work.
