Career
In cooperation with the other departments of the University Medical Center for Children and Adolescents, we offer residents the complete specialty training program in pediatrics and adolescent medicine. Our department also offers specialty training in pediatric hematology and oncology (with an additional qualification in hemostaseology) and in pediatric pulmonology, allergology and special pediatric intensive care.
A range of special services is designed to help staff members balance their family life and career.
Heidelberg University also offers special support programs for women within the framework of the Excellence Initiative. You will find another list of support measures on the pages of the graduate Academy.
One element of the Medical Faculty's support program for junior scientists is the Postdoc Fellowship, which gives physicians, dentists, natural scientists and psychologists the chance to work in our department or in one of the other institutions of the Medical Faculty Heidelberg.
Natural scientists can earn their PhD in our research laboratories and may apply for scholarships via the Hoffmann-Berling-International-Graduate-School (HBIGS).
We offer doctors and natural scientists excellent research opportunities and the possibility of a habilitation.
As a result of our cooperation with the Heidelberg Research Center for Molecular Medicine (HRCMM), which was founded as part of the Excellence Initiative II, we are now able to offer one-year dissertation scholarships for medical students and two-year fellowships for doctors with a scientific interest in molecular medicine.
