Conference "Climate protection at the UKHD".

On Monday, July 11, 2022, the first day of the two-day conference "Climate Protection at the UKHD" took place. It started with a series of lectures on current developments and activities regarding climate protection and sustainability in hospitals.

On Tuesday, July 12, 2022, also as part of the conference, six workshops were held on action planning in the areas of food supply, anesthesia, inhalers, waste disposal, business travel, and purchasing.

Second meeting of the internal steering group

On February 23, the second meeting of the internal steering group of the project took place. Contents of the meeting were the information transfer on the current status of the project, the presentation of the first results of the GHG calculator as well as the prioritization of areas for the introduction of measures planned from fall.

First meeting of the internal steering group

On December 1, the first meeting of the internal steering group of the project took place. In this meeting, the KliOL project and the prototype of the greenhouse gas calculator were presented. Furthermore, it was discussed which data basis is available for the calculator at the UKHD. Subsequently, the GHG calculator will now be further developed with this knowledge in order to measure the GHG emissions of the UKHD.

Start of the Project

The KliOL project started on September 1, 2021. We are currently working intensively on the prototype of the GHG calculator. It is particularly important to work with the relevant stakeholders at Heidelberg University Hospital to determine which data basis can be used for this.
