B02: Functional analysis of skin subsets of dendritic cells using inducible transgenic mice that allow subset specific antigen expression
Institut für Immunologie der Universitätsmedizin Mainz
The dendritic cell (DC) network of the skin consists of at least five phenotypically distinct subpopulations. There is limited information on the functional specialization of these subsets. We will use inducible transgenic mouse models to target MHC class-I and MHC class-II restricted antigens selectively to DC subsets in the skin, to establish the role of individual subsets in T-cell priming and effector differentiation, T-cell tolerance induction and the establishment of skin resident T-cell memory.
