B04: Analysis and modulation of the interplay between T cells and keratinocytes in allergic contact dermatitis
Institut für Immunologie Heidelberg
Project B04 concentrates on the interplay between T lymphocytes and keratinocytes (KC) in allergic contact dermatitis. One aim is to characterize the so far unknown structure and function of immune synapses between T cells and KC and to identify allergy related parameters that decide whether antigen recognition on KC leads to T cell activation or anergy (human and mouse models). In collaboration with dermatologists it will be investigated whether disturbing intracellular costimulatory signals is able to prevent the induction or elicitation of allergic contact dermatitis.
