A06: Regulation of Th17-mediated skin inflammation by heme oxygenase 1 and inflammasome activation
Universitäts-Hautklinik Tübingen
During skin inflammation the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) can influence keratinocytes and myeloid cells. On the one hand ROS affect inflammasome activation, IL-1 production and subsequent Th17 responses. On the other hand ROS-inducing conditions in antigen presenting cells induce oxidative stress-response genes, prevent the development of pathogenic Th17 cells and related inflammation. By using conditional mice and models of Th17-skin inflammation we want to decipher the interplay between oxidative stress and the inflammasome complex in myeloid cells and keratinocytes and their consequences for Th17 responses.
