Molecular Genetics Laboratory
Molecular-genetic testing aims to confirm or exclude genetic alterations that are too small to be detected under a microscope, focussing either on individual genetic traits (alterations in individual genes) or multiple genes at the same time (next generation sequencing).
Genetic testing for hereditary diseases is subject to the guidelines and strict regulations stipulated the German Genetic Diagnostics Act (GenDG, effective since 1st February 2010).
