Information on investigations
The occupational health screening takes approx. 30 minutes; with additional examinations (see below) up to approx. 1 hour(information sheet). To avoid delays, please arrive punctually for your appointment. In the event of delays or if you are unable to keep the agreed appointment, please inform us to arrange an alternative appointment.
Please bring the following documents with you to every appointment:
- Your vaccination card (older ones if applicable) and
- your employee ID card (or identity card or passport)
As part of the occupational health screening, you will have a medical consultation with a medical history and advice; a physical examination (e.g. examination of the heart, lungs, spine, joints), a blood sample for laboratory tests and possibly a urine sample may also be required or offered. Depending on the workplace or workload, further additional examinations may be required or offered, e.g.
- Eye test (for VDU workstations or driving and steering activities (e.g. forklift truck drivers, bus drivers)) - this is always carried out with your current glasses/visual aids. You should therefore always bring your visual aids (glasses, contact lenses, BAP glasses, etc.) with you to the examination.
- Hearing tests may be necessary for certain 'noisy' workplaces (> 80 db(A)); in this case you should also bring your PPE/noise protection (noise protection plugs, headphones) with you.
- For radiation protection examinations, you must also bring the application form completed by the radiation protection officer(application form).
For examinations, consultations and vaccination appointments, the employee must be released from work in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act; i.e. the appointments can be attended during working hours.
