Dr. Stella Dafka
Postdoctoral researcher
Stella Dafka is a climate scientist with a background in physics and meteorology. She received her PhD in climate science from the Justus-Liebig-University of Giessen, Germany. Her scientific work is dedicated to identifying and quantifying the interactions between large-scale atmospheric processes and climate extremes, understanding the mechanisms at regional scales, and assessing their impacts in response to anthropogenic forcing; addressing the environmental and health risks and associated socio-economic impacts, and introducing mitigation strategies to support adaptation to future risks. She joined the CSIDlab in May 2022 with the aim of exploring the impact of extreme events and large-scale atmospheric processes on infectious diseases.
