Research networks
The aim of our research activities, that always revolve around specific drugs, is to develop new therapies and to make already existing therapies and pharmacological care processes safer.
For decades, the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacoepidemiology has been conducting its diverse research activities in collaboration with a wide range of partners. As consortium leader of publicly funded research networks or as highly specialized (sub)project leader in national and international research networks, the department contributes its core expertise to often highly complex research projects.
The following cutting-edge technologies are currently contributed by the department to research collaborations:
- GMP-compliant early clinical drug studies (e.g., first-in-man studies),
- EMA- and FDA-compliant ultrasensitive quantification of drugs in humans, animals, tissues and cells,
- pharmacometric and pharmacokinetic modeling and simulation methods,
- the development of electronic decision support tools (including certified medical devices),
- the optimization of drug supply processes (e.g. interprofessional collaboration), and
- the establishment of new courses of study (e.g. in the field of medication safety).
