Our drug information service answers questions about patient-specific drug therapy from employees of Heidelberg University Hospital, teaching hospitals, and teaching practices. Inquiries are handled by the department's team of physicians and pharmacists. When conducting literature review, we consider different sources of information, consolidate the information and interpret it in the present clinical context in order to provide the treating physicians with concrete recommendations on the best possible course of action in each case. Our areas of focus:

• Complex therapy questions (with consideration of diseases, concomitant medication)
• Dose individualization (support in drug dosing in patients with renal impairment, drug-drug interactions)
• Clarification of adverse drug reactions (assistance with causality assessment, notification system)
• Dose calculation with the help of concentration measurements (therapeutic drug monitoring)
