Caitlin Walsh

Caitlin M. Walsh joined the Research Group in Health Economics and Health Financing as a scientific staff member in December 2018. She is an anthropologist and public health researcher trained in quantitative and qualitative research methods. Her current work is focused on evaluating the impact of the PM-JAY social health insurance scheme on its intended beneficiaries in India. Specifically, Caitlin is responsible for the qualitative components of the evaluation. In the past, Caitlin has researched topics including health policy formulation, adolescent sexual and reproductive health, and the effect of anthropogenic disturbance on the environment in sub-Saharan Africa. She has also conducted research on heat waves and their impact on health as well as various aspects of patient safety. Currently, she is also a project manager at evaplan, GmbH where she ensures effective implementation of a wide variety of development and health projects in Asia and Africa.
