Alejandra Bussaleu Cavero

Public health professional with over a decade of experience conducting research in topics that include the health effects of climate change, traditional medicine and Indigenous knowledge; and experience managing randomized controlled trials and large-scale, mixed methods research projects in rural and Indigenous communities of the Andes and Amazon. Alejandra is actively involved in initiatives that promote interculturality in health and research, and has led programs advocating for epistemic justice and the recognition of Indigenous medicinal knowledge. Her research interests include food sovereignty, mental health, political ecology, and the ethical dimensions of health research in historically marginalized populations.
