Compliance and human rights at UKHD

The corporate culture of Heidelberg University Hospital is characterised by clear responsibility, mutual respect and trust. Lawful behaviour and ethical conduct are an integral part of our activities and an important prerequisite for securing our long-term success as one of the oldest and most renowned university hospitals. Our primary goal is to avoid risks that jeopardise the trust of patients, employees, business partners and the public in UKHD. To this end, the UKHD has set up a compliance management system whose tools and measures are designed to support employees in dealing with compliance risks.

RESPECT for HUMAN rights AND the associated ENVIRONMENTAL standards at ukhd

UKHD recognises its corporate responsibility to respect human rights and the associated environmental standards. This applies to our own business activities as well as in our global supply chains. With clear responsibilities and a wide range of measures, we contribute to compliance with these fundamental rights.

Contact point for whistleblowers

The UKHD whistleblower system is responsible for reports of specific or potential legal violations by Group employees. Business partners, patients or other third parties also have the opportunity to report specific indications of breaches of regulations. This enables risks to be recognised and addressed at an early stage and appropriate remedial action to be taken if necessary.

Confidentiality and the protection of whistleblowers are paramount here. If desired, information can also be provided anonymously. It is our Group-wide policy not to take any steps to establish the identity of a whistleblower who reports anonymously.
