Urgent, i.e. potentially life-threatening emergencies must be treated by an emergency doctor first and as quickly as possible.You can reach the emergency doctor or the rescue coordination centre in Baden-Württemberg via the standardised number 112.
There are emergency outpatient clinics in all hospitals and the staff treat emergency patients around the clock. If possible, please also bring your insurance card with you in the event of an emergency.

What you should bear in mind
Please present your report as calmly as possible and answer the following questions:
- Who is reporting?
- Where did the emergency happen?
- What exactly has happened?
- How many people are injured or ill?
Do not simply hang up after answering the questions, but wait for any follow-up questions.

Please note if you suspect poisoning:
- In the case of unconscious persons, always call the rescue control centre on 112!
- Do not take any hasty measures, do not give salt water or milk!
- You should keep the remains of medicines, chemicals or plants that are suspected to be related to the unconsciousness or illness.
- If you do not know exactly what a person has been poisoned with, you should also keep vomit, urine and/or faeces.
