Welcome to the pages of the Section of Biomagnetism.

 

Being a part of the Neurological Hospital of the University of Heidelberg, the Division of Biomagnetism was founded in 1996. It is equipped with a 122-channel whole-head MEG-system.

The groups' main interest is in hearing research. Conducting neuromagnetic and psychoacoustic experiments, we try to gain insight into the relation between the sensation and perception of acoustic stimuli. Additional information on the processing in the auditory pathway is gathered from modelling the basilar membrane and auditory nerve.
