Teaching
In order for patients' drug therapy to be safe and effective, it is essential that all professional groups involved, such as doctors, pharmacists, nurses and physician assistants, develop an awareness of potential risks and pitfalls. It is important to us to support this from the very beginning of training with our expertise, which is why we are actively involved in university teaching and the training of all professional groups involved in the medication process.
University teaching
The hospital pharmacy provides various lecturers for teaching the subject of clinical pharmacy in the pharmacy degree programme, which is organised via the AMTS cluster. In addition, various lecturers are actively involved in teaching on the HeiCuMed medical degree programme at various points. This is because the implementation of the National Competence-Based Catalogue of Learning Objectives in Medicine (NKLM) aims to focus on interprofessional collaboration and patient safety early on in medical studies and incorporate them into teaching. For example, an interprofessional medication management seminar was created together with the Department of Vascular Surgery, in which medical students gain practical insights into the medication process for surgical patients. This seminar was awarded the Anna Laven Prize for interprofessional collaboration in 2023.
The "Heidelberg Interprofessional Training Centre (HIPSTA)" is also supported by pharmacists in order to support future doctors and nurses in the medication therapy of our patients.
If you have any ideas or interest in joint courses related to drug therapy and drug therapy safety, we look forward to hearing from you.
