Recipe/defect
Prescription
= Production of individually requested medicines
The hospital pharmacy's prescription department is responsible for the production of small quantities of individually prescribed medicines. The demand for formulations in our university hospital remains high. The focus is on dermatology (ointments, creams, solutions), ophthalmology (eye drops) and paediatrics in particular.
Defecture
= Production of medicines in advance in batches of up to 100 units
Around 8000 litres of solutions, 1700 kg of ointments, creams, suspensions and 6000 capsules are produced each year in the Defecture department. These are often formulations from official formulation collections such as the NRF (zinc oxide shaking mixture, betamethasone lotio, salicylic oils, etc.).
In-house developments are also represented, which were originally produced in the formulation and are produced in stock due to strong demand. Precise manufacturing instructions exist for each product in the form of a manufacturing protocol, which ensures batch conformity. In addition to the pharmacist in charge, PTAs and a laboratory technician are responsible for manufacturing the medicines and procuring the raw materials and packaging materials. All finished products are tested by the in-house analytical department before being dispensed. In addition, retained samples and samples from ongoing production are checked for their microbial status by the Hygiene Institute.
