Pharmaceutical production

The production of medicines is one of the central tasks of a hospital pharmacy. Depending on the requirements placed on the medicine, which substances are to be processed or what quantities are to be produced, production takes place in different departments. As in other pharmacies of this size, the pharmacy at Heidelberg Hospital traditionally has the following manufacturing departments:

• Formulation and Defecture
• Sterile department
• TPN department (total parenteral nutrition)
• Pharmaceutical Oncological Service (POS)
