Health Economics and Health Financing


MaryBennah joined the Research group in Health Economics and Health Financing as PhD candidate in October, 2021. She is passionate about research and development. Her research interests include health inequities, health financing, health systems and policy.  Currently, she is working on” Progress on maternal and child health outcomes during the covid-19 pandemic in Sub-Saharan Africa: A trend analysis.  Prior to joining the Institute, MaryBennah worked as a program officer for the World Health Organization based in Zimbabwe where she supported the Inter-country support team (IST) on Gavi grant management process. She has extensive experience in program implementation across Eastern and Southern African countries. In 2018, she worked as a health Economist intern for UNICEF- ESARO, Nairobi Kenya. She was involved diverse projects development of Investment Case for the Somalia Polio Transition & costing of Namibia eMTC roadmap.
